2018 Gymnastics Gala Day
On the 16th of November, 11 girls represented St Nicholas of Myra at the Diocesan Gymnastics Gala Day.
The girls applied themselves and persevered across the four apparatus on the day. Overall the girls came 2nd in the blue group of 10 division. Congratulations to you all on a fantastic effort and achievement!

✝️ Easter Sunday ✝️ Today is Easter Sunday. Easter Sunday marks Jesus's resurrection. After Jesus was crucified on the Friday his body was taken down from the cross and buried in a cave tomb. The tomb was guarded by Roman soldiers and an enormous stone was put over the entrance. On Sunday Mary Magdalene and some of Jesus's disciples visited the tomb. But Jesus was not there. ... ✝️ Good Friday ✝️ Today is Good Friday. Good Friday marks the Commemoration of the Crucification of Jesus. Jesus walked from the court yard to Calvary Hill carrying His cross. The path he used is called Via Dolorosa, "the way of pain." ... And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”- The Gospel of Matthew

🌿🌿 Palm Sunday 🌿🌿 Today is Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, during which palm branches were placed in his path, before his arrest on Holy Thursday and his crucifixion on Good Friday. It thus marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent.

✝️ The Stations of the Cross ✝️ The Stations of the Cross are a special devotional prayer to help us remember the tremendous love of Jesus as He suffered and died for each of us. Jesus died in Jerusalem. Jesus walked from the court yard to Calvary Hill carrying His cross. Calvary is where He was crucified. The path he used is called Via Dolorosa, "the way of pain." Today we will walk this same path in prayer. We will stop at each station to remember what happened to Jesus and to pray and reflect on how His suffering happened in order to save us.
